Signature Program Night - Attention 8th Graders!
SIGNATURE PROGRAMS INFORMATION NIGHT AT STAFFORD COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS
SCPS provides amazing, application-based and specialty-type programs for students at their high schools. Signature Programs Information Night will help students and families make informed decisions about the numerous academic options available at their high school. It will provide an overview for families and students in a “college fair” type of setting.
Open to SCPS families with a target audience of 6th-8th graders
These programs vary in nature and scope as they relate to the academic and career quests of the student. These programs include the following: APPX, CGS, CTE, IB, JROTC and STAT.
This information is for all 6th, 7th and 8th graders but will be particularly valuable to 8th graders who will be developing their high school schedules (4-Year Plans) with their middle school counselors beginning in February. This will be the only inclusive event by the county that showcases ALL of the programs available for students entering 9th grade and beyond next year.

Attention Parents of Rising 6th Graders:
The following are requirements of rising sixth grade students:
A Tdap (Diphtheria, Pertussis, and Tetanus) booster is required by Virginia law of students enrolling in grade six. This vaccination should be listed as Tdap. Tdap can be given to student’s age 10 or 11 and isrequired to be given for entry to sixth grade. Multiple vaccine preparations are available, if your health care provider does not carry the preparation for your student’s age, you may call the health department for an appointment as they do carry the required preparation.

Andrew G. Wright
Have you ever wondered who our school was named after? Please read this newly penned biography of Andrew G. Wright.
A special thanks to Jane Conner, local Stafford County historian, and Elizabeth Wright, one of Andrew's daughters for their incredible assistance in piecing this biography together.
Curt Southwick, for whom our library is named, was one of our beloved teachers who was taken from us way too early. Mrs. Southwick helped me put together this biography of him so that all of our students can know what a great guy he was.
